Welcome to Palmer House
in the Griggs Mansion Bed & Breakfast
If you’re looking for high quality and personal service, you’ve come to the right place. At Palmer House in the Griggs Mansion Bed & Breakfast we’ll give you the attention and personal service you’ll come to expect and enjoy. We offer the best in modern Historic elegance.  Let us put our experience to work for you.

Built circa 1892 by local businessman Abbott S. Griggs, the Queen-Anne Victorian Mansion remains mostly unchanged since that time.  One addition, a small sleeping porch was added many years ago. The current owners purchased the home in December 2004 and began a full restoration.  Beginning with all new electric, plumbing, and heating system (utilizing the original radiators), careful attention has been given to maintaining the integrity of the Victorian lifestyle while adding modern conveniences.

A unique blending of the Queen-Anne style with many Craftsman elements, the house is a study in period architecture.  The Grand Staircase features the original Stained Glass Windows, and hand-carved woodwork adorns the Great Hall.  The Double Parlor showcases the original Roycroft printed wallpaper, original electric chandeliers and sconces, window shutters with a hide-away feature, and original Pocket Doors that have a story to tell.

A guided tour of the home, including the 3rd floor Ballroom and the owner's quarters, can be arranged during your stay.
